Today, Friday, 6th August saw me as a participant to the Tabrizi 90 days Rapid Transformation Model seminar organized and conducted by the South ease Asia Interdisciplinary Development Institute ( SAIDI ), in their campus cum spiritual formation retreat centre in Antipolo, Philippines.
The essence of the model is that it creates a mind-set of awareness for change, which in turn becomes the means through which rapid transformation throughout an organization is possible.
All through out the first session, ably facilitated by Dean Rose Fuentes, PhD, I could not help but continuously refer and associate what I was learning to other change models such as Argyris' single and double loop learning, Senge's 5th Discipline, Heifedtz's Technical and Adaptive approaches to change and John Kotter's thoughts on the "ice-berg is melting".
However, learning has this ability to raise loads of questions, such as;
a. how does an department, or a unit, attempt transformation?
b. is there a fulcrum required for this change process to succeed?
c. where does leadership come in, and at which level?
I look forward to engaging with the seminar facilitators again tomorrow, and with my fellow participants who are a lively bunch, from both the profit and non-profit sectors in Philippines. Academe was largely represented.
