Ah ... back to blog!

I need to thank my student Rasyad for this entry. In class this morning, he said that he would blog about leaders, and how leaders are to be blamed for all the mess we are experiencing. I rebutted that that's exactly why we need to study leadership in depth. So, he said that he would blog about this ( go ahead Rasyad ... ).

And therein for this back to blog entry. Once again, I'm amazed at how this LLS 101 class is again so different. Today in class, one of them named Carla Carpe-something as a leader. Apparently this is an outspoken lady on behalf of keeping the holocaust of the Armenians by Turks in the memory of mankind. That made me look up some references to the Armenian holocaust as it is termed. How terrible that human beings could perpetrate such horrors on one another!

So, I am really thankful for my LLS classes. Interestingly, my very first LLS batch way back in May of '06 are nearing graduation. It is a study in contrasts to see how they are compared to the "newbies". The "veterans" come across very jaded, almost disillusioned sometimes, and this is my perception only.

Sometimes I can be very cross with Psychology. It feels to me that psychology comes across as a discipline which is still struggling with an identity crisis. A crisis which makes it a little insecure. Insecure enough to insist that a pure or physical sciences approach must be employed in social sciences research. Perhaps the reason why controversies abound in psychology. Perhaps also why Pavlov refused vehemently to be labelled a psychologist. He insisted that he was a physiologist.

I hope to think clearer on these issues and write a lot more about Psychology, its beneficence, as well as its misdeeds.

Stay tuned!

Oh ... and have a good restful weekend!

Sir, your entry makes me think... sometimes we would like to think that people changed, yet to find out that it's our perception that's changed...well, in our lives we must endure changes, because the only thing that will never change is "changes"...
