Leadership!

The quality of leadership, more than any other single factor, determines the success or failure of an organization. ~ Fred Fiedler & Martin Chemers "Improving Leadership Effectiveness"

I have to agree totally with this quotation from Messrs Fiedler & Chemers. And my question remains ... why is it so difficult for leaders of organizations, whether profit or non-profit, to see the truth of this statement? Perhaps because it is a truth! In a world of greyness, truth has been blurred. The distinctions of black and white punches us in the gut. The whiteness and blindingness of truth blinds us to our blind spot! Truth is painful, so we retreat into the shadows, and live in denial. How tragic! Truth can be exhilirating! Vivacious, even! Refreshing too! There is something about truth which can only be grasped when we engage in its present-ness, or Presence! Truth has this ability to not let us go once we stumble upon it. It is considered as powerful medicine when taken consistently.
