The move of the Holy Spirit in FGA Selayang appears to be tapering off. I wonder why? I know that I truly desire to be filled more and more by Him. I know that I greatly desire to serve Him in evangelism, missions and discipleship. And that I cannot do this without the overflowing of the Holy Spirit within me.
How can I grow in the anointing? How can I enter that place where the Spirit of God is moving so powerfully, so graciously within me and through me? To touch lives for the Gospel?
"Do not seek for the power for the sake of the power. Do not seek for the power to do ministry for the sake of ministry. Seek to be His doulos. And let Him lead you."
Faith, the Holy Spirit, and the Word of God; these are the crucial factors for ministry which glorifies the Lord.
My constant cry, "LORD, fill me with Your Spirit and power, and wisdom, and faith. And by Your grace, to be humble always, broken and contrite!"
How do you know that an individual, or an assembly, is filled with the Holy Spirit?
1. They continue Steadfastly in Bible Study, in Fellowship, in Breaking of Bread, and in Prayers.
2. There will be signs and wonders
3. There will be a commonality of purpose and sharing of material blessings
4. There will be simplicity
5. There will be gladness & praise
6. There will be favor all around
7. There will be numerical growth
The problem may be that when the Holy Spirit moves, the emphasis or focus of the leadership becomes perhaps, a little fixated on the "move", or manifestation, or of having people receive a "touch: of the Holy Spirit, and then forgetting to see the other characteristics as stated above. So even the prayer meeting becomes a time for the Holy Spirit to "move", and for people to be "touched", and sadly, very little time is given to effectual fervent corporate prayer for souls, the community, the nation, and for the church. Hardly any effort is made to get the very ones being "touched" into deeper discipling to be sent out to touch lives with the gospel.
It is almost tragic that the church simply refuses to learn from history, refuses to be open enough for the Lord to move any way He wants. And simply tragic when a move of the Holy Spirit is left to one person to pastor, if at all. The book of Acts, our guide to the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit is neglected, when all the models and examples are clearly laid out for us to follow. A striking aspect of the dispensation of the Holy Spirit is the collective leadership and collaboration with the Holy Spirit so remarkably narrated in the early chapters of the book of Acts, right up to chapter 16. So why aren't our leaders cognizant of this? Why does it seem that they still have their blinkers on?
May the Lord grant us mercy, that when seasons of refreshing begins, that the Lord will grant us great grace to be open and aware of how little we know of His ways, and to be open to His communication from multi-dimensional sources so that His move may continue so that He will receive all the glory, and not a single person, or a single assembly.
Come Lord Jesus!
