After the Tsunami shocker, what next?
Firstly, congratulations to Lim Guan Eng, and his brave colleagues. They paid the price; their fathers did too ( remember 'Operation Lallang" 1987? ), and now they sow the enormous sacrifice of personal safety for the sake of convictions of accountability and high principles.
It is unbelievable that we have a government in denial. In social science, denial precludes any hope for healthy change, and victory over psychological sickness. Imagine when extrapolated onto a societal stage! A government in denial, which cannot see that the only ones which support them are those who have benefited from their parochial, and unprincipled actions.
The Rukun Negara will not be denied. Kepercayaan kepada Tuhan is still paramount. And God is not the exlusive domain of any one group. All who believe in God Who is merciful and just means that what one sows, one will reap. It is inevitable. Akin to the 2nd law of Newtonian physics; every action has an equal and proportionate reaction.
When will it dawn on our ruling party and all who share the same mindset? You can fool all the people some of the time, some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time ( Abe Lincoln ); be sure that your sin will find you out.
In the meantime, the tenets of the Rukun Negara remains our only hope if this nation aspires for greatness. Only adherence to universal values, not narrowminded racist ones, will see Malaysia be a beacon of all that is just, true and gracious.
May God bless Malaysia.
